Amy’s Farm is a non-profit outreach of S.C.A.L.F. We share a nine acre site occupied by our for-profit sister organization Amy’s FarmShare. As a participant in Amy’s FarmShare program, you are purchasing an ownership portion of the livestock category of your choice. When fully developed, our FarmShare program will include dairy cows, beef steers, market hogs, market lambs, chicken broilers, and turkeys. We are currently offering shares in our dairy cows and beef steers. To view a contract, scroll down for each category.
We are pleased to offer you local, humanely raised steers. This is a farm-to-plate program and an opportunity for you to experience some of the finest prime beef available. Many of our share members split their share with family and/or friends.
We are currently featuring Angus steers that are purchased as calves from local ranches. These calves are raised naturally at their mother's side on open pasture. When they reach 500 pounds we continue the growing process on our farm, feeding grass hay supplemented with some grain to enhance the flavor and finish of your steer. No antibiotics are fed or hormones used the entire growing period.

The growing period for your steer lasts approximately 12 months. An initial deposit is collected for the purchase of your calf. Three payments are billed throughout the growing period and a final payment will be billed once the butchering is completed. Total charges for your steer are based on finished carcass weight. View our contract for pricing details (located on side bar).
Amy’s FarmShare provides a free consultation with our resident chef, Brad Owen. Brad will assist you in decisions for the breakdown of your beef and Pomona Food Locker will handle the processing of your steer carcass by cutting and wrapping the meat to your specifications. The current rate for cutting and wrapping is $.79/lb.carcass weight. Your steer will dry age at the locker for approximately 3 weeks. Cutting and wrapping will be done at the completion of dry aging and you will receive a call for pick-up. Payment for cutting and wrapping is due at pick-up and is paid directly to Pomona Food Locker.
Your steer will be finished approximately one year from start of contract. Final weight cannot be predicted, but based on our experience, your steer carcass will range between 750-850 lbs.
